We left our friends Tuesday at about noon. We didn't want to leave as we were hoping to see more friends while we were in Quartzite but I felt we needed to. Ken needs to have a follow up appointment on his back. It's healing nicely, but seems a bit hard to me surrounding the wound area. Texas will wait.
Ken had Deb take a selfie of us all. Me, Deb and Deb..Ken, Doug and Tom.. Love this group! 💗 |

The dust storm |
We had a nice drive, windy and dusty but still an easy drive. We ended up in Cal Nev Ari at the RV Park there. We've stayed there a few times, it used to be Passport America, but no more. $33.15 for the night, so it's affordable. Full hookups, and pull through sites, very nicely kept park. Quiet for sure, other than the howling winds and cold temps. A lot of the park seems to be locals living there, but still ok. $450.00 a month I would assume is the draw.
Wednesday morning we woke up around 0600 and started getting ready. We left around 1000 and had a nice drive through Vegas. Traffic yes, but not rush hour. Ken did a great job navigating through there! It was about 1230 when we were through most of it. We stopped at Armagosa Valley and had lunch in the Mansion. Originally we thought we'd stop there for the night, but it was close to 1400 and we thought, let's move on.
We are in Tonopah, NV at the Tonopah Station RV Park, basically a parking lot with hookups. Used to be $27.00 for the night but now it's $34.00. Can't get any tv stations but that's ok, Ken brought dvds. The most important thing is heat! So cold here! It was 21 feels like 8. Yes, there is wind! 26 at home..oh yay! Talked with Karen and it snowed Tuesday evening. We'll see her tonight for Happy Hour.
Too bad it was such a short trip, but that's how the jello jiggled! We are blessed with our family and friends and that's all that matters.
My sister Wendy with her new grandson 💗 He should be going home today. |
Waking up here in Tonopah, NV it's 13 degrees with a feels like -3. Yes, we have frozen pipes. No showers this morning. Thank goodness for the electric heater.
It's 28 degrees here ... I can't imagine where YOU are. I think I would just drive all night long with the heater on HIGH!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're too old to do that! LOL. We were comfy cozy in the trailer though!
DeleteSo glad you made the trek down to The Howling and we were able to meet you!
ReplyDeleteOh so are we! We were talking about you guys tonight with Karen. Your class you're going too and how we're going to have to trek to South Dakota once again! :)
DeleteWE were hoping to meet up with you guys in Q one more time, but just didn't happen :(
DeleteWe are hovering around the freezing mark again but the wind makes everything feel colder. Hopefully no damage from the frozen pipes. Continued safe travels.
ReplyDeleteDeb
Pipes are good, we made it home and he was able to winterize it one more time! 22 expected for the night, so warmer than last night LOL.
DeleteGlad you two are safe and warm. You missed all the storms and will make it home. That's great. So glad you came down and we'll meet again down the road.

DeleteThat's the plan! You need to let us all know where you will be next winter! I still want to get to Texas again! We are home!
DeleteFrozen pipes...yuck. Baby boy Phoenix is looking good. Loved the pictures with grandma. I thought our weather was "uncomfortable " but you win. Enjoy happy hour!
ReplyDeleteYeah they did suck! but no damage. He is good, had a bloody spit up this morning, so they kept him another 24. Hopefully he an go home tomorrow!
DeleteThat was one cold ride. Hope your pipes are okay. It must have felt good to get home. That little boy is a cutie and what special pictures of him and his grandma.
ReplyDeleteVery cold morning but we had heaters running. Yes, we are happy to be here! He is adorable, can't wait to see him in person. A bit of a hiccup this morning as he spit up a bloody one. They are keeping him an extra 24 hrs. but hope all is well tomorrow.
