Adam visited..Surprise Can Am ride!

Monday morning Adam was doing some computer work after breakfast. About 1100 he decided to take a drive to Berlin Ichthyosaur State Park 127 miles from here. We took him camping there a few years back when he was here. I made him a couple of sandwiches to go and he got drinks together.   He left about 1140.  He was later getting back than he thought he would be but it didn't matter to us.  Ken barbecued his Papa Burgers and I did fries.  It was a yummy dinner for sure! We visited and watched a movie and bedtime. :)

Adam ready for a drive to Berlin Ichthyosaur State Park...
Adam was going to take a ride..but time to get gas..

Tuesday morning was very easy going and Adam decided to go for a Can Am ride. Well, he was worried about the amount of gas in the Can Am as we hadn't filled it since Dusty and family were here.  The 400 quad was about the same and the 700 was even less.  Adam and I ran to town and filled the 3 gas cans we have. When we got back he decided to take the 700 on a ride.

Adam...

Headed out on the 700!

Later in the afternoon Ken hooked up our old video camera to the tv and we watched videos of grandkids from 2002 ...No tears here! haha.

I made oven fried chicken for dinner along with mashed potatoes and green beans. Adam decided to go ahead and go home as he was working at the pizza parlor on Wednesday afternoon. He's young and doesn't mind driving at night (which we hate). We're just glad that when he has a few days, he comes over when he can!

Wednesday morning we left here around 0815 as Ken had an appointment in Carson City with the Rheumatoid Arthritis doctor.  Well, flying colors and he's released from her. She'll keep him as a patient, but unless something happens he doesn't have to go back! YAY!

We stopped by Tractor Supply just because and on the way home, a stop at Betsy's Big Kitchen for linner. Then home. We sat on the front porch and enjoyed the Little Red Campfire for a while.

Thursday was a stay at home day...or so I thought.  Ken went to breakfast with Joe (our next door neighbor) and I enjoyed my breakfast and book for a bit. Right before my lunch I said I was planning on baking some treats this afternoon.  Ken said because it was going to be one of the last nice afternoons "How about a Can AM ride to the State Park"...sounds good to me!

We left here about 1315 and got back home about 1615.  Great ride and nice temps. Of course it's cold now!

Headed out today to Walker River State Recreation Area..via the back roads!

Yep..Dusty and dirty!
Enjoyed our Happy Hour out there!

Only a couple of people camping..
Preppier vehicle ..Texas plates!
Huge Cottonwoods..turning lovely colors..
A campsite at the park..

Our gorgeous sunset at home!

Tomorrow we head for Reno to get our seat covers put on the front seats...

  1. I totally agree with your sentiments. You may never see your family members again ... never give up a holiday!! Now the preppier truck? I LOVE IT!! That may just be my new downsized RV. You are so lucky to live where you can ride the desert roads, in spite of the dust and dirt.

  2. Totally agree Nancy and unfortunately that seems to be the way it is. It was a family with Texas plates and two small children. Only saw the dad, I'm assuming mom was inside. We love where we live even with the dust and dirt! Thank goodness for showers :)

  3. Well that was a fun filled busy week. My cousin was camping at Picacho so we drove out to see him. We took the trails.....drove under the railroad tracks, up along the American Canal, then the desert trails. It's always fun. Adam looks great....nice looking your man.

  4. You two continue to go go go and we love following your adventures around your place and beyond.
Your last two posters are priceless, life is too short. We can still be careful but never say no to family in our opinion too. xoxo
