Seth graduates! Quick trip to Carson..just a good life!!

The catch up I didn't get done yesterday :)

Last Thursday, April 30th we were glued to the computer to watch our grandson, Seth graduate his Field Artillery Training Class.  It started at 0800 and there were only 17 in his class so it was pretty quick.  Best thing, we got to see him for a quick minute! :)  Very proud of you Seth!  Early (like 0200) the next morning he was on a plane for his duty station at Camp Pendleton. Hopefully in the near future his family and sweetie can get down there for a visit.  We plan on visiting too :)

Other than that we were home with a trip to Carson City on Friday to visit Lowe's to pick up a few things. Walmart of course. The winds are fierce and temperatures are warming.  We had a few 80's and now mostly 70's so not bad.

Stole this one from Facebook the other day.  Never truer words were written.

                           I never thought I would
                              see a time that so
                             many people were so
                               afraid of dying that
                               they were willing to
                                  stop living.

I did get and plant a couple six packs of marigolds, my daddy's favorite flower.
Marigolds
The garden is still alive..not much growth yet..

Ken enlarged the box on the 20 foot trailer..now when we get rock
the tractor box will fit :)

My red table that was inside is now outside..the new fridge takes it place..

My mom gave me this in 1975 for Mother's Day 😙

Thursday evening we went over to Karen's to celebrate little Noah's 5th birthday. He had a great time, of course what 5 year old doesn't.  His dad's family sent a video of the family down in SO CAL signing Happy Birthday to him. Very sweet.

Friday found us in Carson City for Ken's Cat Scan before his lung appointment this week on Thursday.  All is good, just a check up.

Saturday we were back in Carson City for the rally.

Yesterday we did some work around the house and then sat outside and had a nice happy hour while Ken barbecued chicken. Winds were up once again, but hey it's Nevada! lol.
Gotta love our flag... Makes me think of Aaron Tippin's song with the line ..You've got to  stand for something or you'll fall for anything!
And nowadays...

One of our views from our property..

Our boys tractors.. At least 46 years old 💗💗:)

This morning we set the alarm as we had to be in Carson City at 0830 for Ken's rheumatoid specialist appointment.  He's been waiting since October for this appointment. This was the last specialist his lung doctor wanted him to see to rule out any internal rheumatoid arthritis.  Happy to say all is good! He'll go back in 6 months and if still the same, she'll cut him loose.

Good thing gas prices are lower, as obviously we like supporting big oil :)

We headed to Home Depot, but there was a line waiting to get in, so we left. Headed ourselves home and we were home in time for lunch here. I had taken lunch with us just in case.

After lunch I decided to make a carrot banana bread that I saw Christina post on FB. Looked good and I had bananas and carrots that needed to be used.  Looks good, we'll see how Ken likes it in the morning. I've got some of my flourless peanut butter cookies in the oven right now.
Banana carrot bread...we'll see how Ken likes it in the am..
Christina posted it on FB and I had bananas and carrots that
needed to be used!😲😕😫

Got invited to Cinco De Mayo tomorrow at Karen's so that'll be a nice afternoon. Have a great evening!!

The internet was really messed up here on Monday. I tweaked this a bit this Tuesday morning.  A little trip is in the making maybe...:) Time to wake up Ken and get some coffee in us! Make the most of your day today! 💙

  1. Love the saying, so true when you think about it. I will use it. We did what we were suppose to do when we got home, self Quarantine for two weeks and were cautious for two weeks after that. We will now visit family and friends, shake hands and give hugs if they are open to doing so. Take care and keep living.

That is great news about both Ken's checkups. Things could have been so different, we're thrilled that he is doing well. :)

    1. Yeah the internet wasn't cooperating uhhhhh! Yep, things could have been different, we're sure glad the way things turned out! Ken said the bread is the best out of all I make him. I didn't add the suggested sugar (as he's really not a sweet eater person) but with raisins that added more sweetness.

  7. Congratulations to Seth! It has to be a nice feeling to know he is now a lot closer. Good to read all is well with Ken.
The saying is very true. Sometimes I start reading something and I just think how can all this have happened and so quickly or I will have a moment of how can all of this be true. When did it become okay for the government at any level to decide we did not have common sense and they needed to keep us "safe". Luckily we are presently in a place that seems to let common sense and what you feel is right for you be the order of the day. Take care....hugs
