Aaron and Football! The Kitchen gets all three sides!

I know I've posted this picture a few times over the years, but it still amazes me that 52 years ago last night we were at Ken's Senior Ball. Where does the time go?!

Russell, Lori and Aaron headed for Salt Lake City yesterday and a 7v7 Football Tournament. Today Aaron and his team members got a couple of pretty incredible visits to UTE College and Weber State. Very impressive, so I stole a few pictures to share on here.  Now to see what the future holds for him. Last year of high school coming up. Mason too. Another, Where does the time go?!!

Aaron

Every time I see him he just gets more muscular..and they
were just here a few weeks ago!

Must be the Weber sign..

This is Aaron's team from Sacramento. A lot of dedicated parents to make sure
their kids get this experience in Utah!

Pretty plush seating...all about Football

Russell said there's 5 more kids coming in tonight to play some football tomorrow!

Now on to the kitchen :) Ken got an earlier start today so he finished the back, got the third window in and finishing the side! I'm loving the way it's turned out, my vision exactly.  Next the floor which will take some doing. Alot of leveling needs to be done then a base and then pavers.

I'm so in love with this! πŸ’— Hubby did an excellent job! πŸ’–πŸ˜Š

Blogger isn't let me caption the pictures..so where it's open on the two sides we will
put chicken wire so it will still be open but will discourage birds from sitting there.
Next on to the floor πŸ˜€ Then water and electrical.

I did order a fridge today from Home Depot that should be in around the 16th. Not a real big one but it's 58 inches tall. The bunk house has a fridge and so does the Komfort that works well. Really only will be stocked when we are expecting company.

Tomorrow Karen's mom, auntie and rest of the family will be coming over to Karen's for a barbecue so we won't get much done here. That's ok, Ken's worked really hard out there in the miserable wind! Now he'll be working inside and once he gets the bottom filled in the wind won't bother him a bit! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Headed to Happy Hour with the furry kids and after dinner we'll spend the night again. They are much happier with company! Have a great evening!

Lowe's , Kitchen siding going on!

Tuesday morning we headed to Fernley to visit that Lowe's. We finally decided what wood we wanted for the kitchen and they had it!

We got there and looked all over and had a couple of associates help us. Two guys who have helped us before found it.  A brand new band of 156 pieces of 1x4x12. They had to get the fork lift and bring it down. These two guys are a really cute team together. πŸ˜€ Always happy and smiling.

60 pieces of wood and some nails for the nail gun $513.00 out the door! Ouch. Definitely would have been more if we'd chosen another wood. We are nearing the end of the most expensive stuff, pavers for the floor will be next. We're talking about having a load of gravel delivered so that'll hurt too πŸ˜‰

I came out of the house and he had started the wall. I asked him why he was doing the wood that way. He said "I liked the way it looked" I'm like I don't think so. He laughed because he did it so he doesn't have to make a cut on every board. Put the wall up and then use the multi tool to cut them all at once. I watched that and it worked amazingly. The top piece of wood is what the wood will look like once Mother Nature finishes her job!

We knew when buying this wood their would be some air gaps, but perfection in
the walls isn't what we're looking for. We're looking for character HAHA.

Yesterday Ken had an appointment for service for the Tundra so we took separate vehicles and stopped at Betsy's Big Kitchen for breakfast. YUM! Dropped the Tundra off and in my car we headed for the hospital so Ken could get a lung X-ray for his appointment next Tuesday. Nothing is wrong, the lung dr just does this every 6 months before his appointment.

I waited in the car as they're still requiring masks. I can sit in the car mask free LOL.  He was done pretty quickly and they had called saying the Tundra was finished. Picked it up and headed home.

Ken worked on the kitchen until it time to head next door for Happy Hour with the pups. We came home and had dinner then headed back over to spend the night.

The side and back work from today.

Inside looking out...

Today (Thursday) we took it really easy and Ken didn't get started until about 1200 LOL. It's nice and warm but the darn wind is up again. It'll be cooling down starting Saturday for most of next week.

End of today the back wall

John and Karen made their 1st destination of Durant, OK to see his daughter and meet his 1st grandson in person.

Stetson and his grandpa John πŸ’™

Today I got a picture and a text they made it to Stillwater, OK their next destination. Saturday, John's son Jesse graduates from college. Karen said it stormed all the way but they're safe and sound.

A fire and a well deserved drink! Enjoy you two! πŸ’–

Happy Hour for us now. Heading next door πŸ·πŸΊπŸ•πŸΆ

More work on the outdoor kitchen :) Babysitting the furry children next door! Happy Birthday Allissa!

Friday morning we headed out for Carson City Lowe's. First was a stop at Walmart for some groceries. Once we finished there we were headed for Lowe's and it was still early. Ken said to do an online order for Total Wine in Reno, as we knew it would be done by the time we were going to get there. Who am I to argue, right?!

We stopped at Lowe's and got the piece of roofing we needed so he could finish the roofing. We bought 10 2x4's for the framing of the windows. $166.00 the cheapest yet, but we really didn't have much.

We headed over to Total Wine and then it was time for dinner on the way home. Betsy's Big Kitchen never seems to disappoint and Ken had lunch for the next day.

Again, the day was pretty much done by the time we got home. We headed over to John and Karen's for Happy Hour. John was home as they were leaving Sunday to head for Oklahoma. They are going to see John's first grand son and then to another part of OK to see his son, Jesse graduate college. They'll be gone about 2 weeks so we are baby sitting the pups at their house.

Ken got the roof finished and then started on the framing of the windows and walls. Looking good!

It's coming together nicely..roof is on

Window is framed for the red windowπŸ˜€  He'll put that in later when
we do that wall as it's only single pane..

We have a framed in window! 😁

How it looks from the back porch so far

Because the wind was so bad Ken put a tarp up..sure made the difference
today! You can see how the wind is pushing the tarp in!

We have two windows in!!

The back wall..

Sunday we went over for Happy Hour with the furry kids. We weren't going to stay the night but Mugsy looked so depressed I told Ken let's go home and have dinner then come back and stay. Yep, Mugsy has me wrapped. LOL. He crawled in-between Ken and me and then by morning he was on my side under the covers..such a sweetie. πŸ’–

We were going to visit Ken's mom today, but it didn't work out with what she has going on so we'll go next week. She sounds good though.

Tomorrow we're headed for Lowe's to pick up the wood we want for the walls πŸ˜ƒ Not quite sure what that is but we'll come up with something. Actually had Happy Hour in the outside kitchen and came up with what we want. 😁

Today is Jacob's sweetie, Allissa's 21st birthday!

Happy 21st Birthday Allissa!! We love you! πŸ’—

We're at John and Karen's house and will be spending the night with the pups. Ken found some fencing that needs repairing to make sure Mugsy doesn't get out, so he's working on that in this miserable wind!

Mugsy πŸ’™

Have a good night! He just came in! 😊🍺🍷

Happy 49th Birthday Bryan! A few days in Lincoln, CA. Home again.

Happy 49th Birthday to our first born, Bryan! πŸ’™

Just about 49 years ago. He was about 3 months old here πŸ’™

Ken was able to get the whole roof covered with roofing tin on Friday morning. 😁 We  need a couple more pieces as he wanted the roofing over the back of the structure covered. If he had put the front posts in further we wouldn't need to do it, but he wanted it as big as possible. We'll get that done after coming home from Bryan's house.

Adam and Ken

Another piece of facia board is needed along with 2x4's for framing the
windows..

He actually was able to start framing in the red window, but we need more 2x4's so we'll get that later this week too. πŸ˜€

He brought the Mansion over and we got it loaded up and ready to go.

Sunday morning we left home about 0900 and arrived in Lincoln, CA just about 1300. 4 hours so not a bad drive.

We checked out Bryan and Cheryl's lovely new to them home on wheels. It's a Montana 5th wheel and it's gorgeous. Perfect for the two of them for now along with the two dogs πŸ˜€

We met up with Renette and spent the afternoon visiting under the back porch area where it was much cooler than out in the sun.

Adam and Erin got here about 1500 hrs after spending some time in the Sacramento area looking for a camera lens for Adam.

Bryan and Cheryl's Montana and us in front

Adam and his sweetie Erin πŸ’•

Cheryl made some yummy stuffed bell peppers and salad for dinner. After deciding what to do on Monday we called it a night around 2230.

Monday morning we were going to visit with Ken's mom in Carmichael, but she needed to go to the emergency room as she'd had some problems over night. Diane (Ken's sister) was on her way over to take her there. We found out later that they admitted her to run some tests.

We headed out and took Bryan to lunch at Cafe Delicias in Roseville. Cheryl had decided to stay home so she could work on Bryan's birthday dinner for Tuesday.

Later we just hung out under that porch again, as it's really nice out there. I had made a pork roast, mashed potatoes, gravy and green bean casserole. Adam stopped by after returning the lens he bought the day before and was able to have dinner with us.

Pork roast had hardly no fat and was yummy! I took the juices and veggies, and
made gravy after pureeing the veggies.

We ended up with a much later night about 0030 (1230 am) before we called it a night :)

Tuesday was Bryan's 49th birthday so we just hung around. I had made a breakfast casserole so we enjoyed that.  Cheryl made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and a yummy chocolate cake. We sat in their 5th wheel for a while in the evening. What a nice place!

Guess who wrapped Bryan's gift? Not me!

Wednesday morning we got ourselves ready to head home. We wanted to take Bryan and Cheryl to breakfast so we loaded into Cheryl's car and headed for Lincoln. It used to be just a small town when she was growing up there, but boy has it grown and still growing outward. Signs everywhere of new sub divisions and starting from the low $500,000's!

We had an awesome breakfast and yes we'd definitely go back there again!

They're open for breakfast and lunch. Great food and service

Cute old town

We got home and after a bit, hugs goodbye and we headed out. We did hear as soon as we were on the road that Grandma was headed home too. We wanted to get the Mansion home, and here in the next little bit we'll run over to do a one day turnaround and visit with her.

I was surprised by this adorable gift from Cheryl. Awesome night light! πŸ’—

Cheryl has quite the garden growing!

Had to get a picture of Daisy since she wasn't in the family picture πŸ’™

Cheryl surprised me with this too! πŸ’™πŸ’™ Thinking it will look awesome in
my new Kountry Kitchen with some aprons hanging from it!

We got home around 1600. We didn't unload much and actually had Happy Hour out in the Mansion and dinner too. Unloading, that's what tomorrows are for right?!

Today was the day for unloading and getting things done. Ken got the Mansion back to it's parking spot and hooked up the 12 foot utility trailer as we're heading for Lowe's and Walmart tomorrow. Gotta get him back to work. LOL.

Ken was greeted with this on our kitchen table yesterday.  Thank you John and
Karen.  Bryan got him a case of Hoppy IPAs so he's set for quite awhile πŸ’™πŸ˜

I ordered this cook stove from Wayfair on Monday, it was here yesterday.
We'll have the Blackstone griddle and this stove in the kitchen 😁

Have a great evening, it's almost Happy Hour! 🍷🍺 With the winds I'll be surprised if we find a spot outside!
