Last Wednesday we headed for Gardnerville to pick up a prescription at Raley's. I wish the few we have would renew at the same time so we didn't have to go so often but they don't. While we were there figured might as well stop at Walmart for groceries and a couple of birthday cards.
Once we finished, we headed for Carson Valley Inn and linner. Only place I can get a turkey burger and it was delicious.
Thursday and Friday were spent at home, just getting things done. Our wood splitter has some kind of a carburetor problem, so Ken spent some time on that. If he can't figure it out, it'll have to go to a shop somewhere. Yerington has no place to fix it.
We were going to head over to CA on Friday as Aaron's football team made the playoffs. He hurt his knee the last Friday and Russell let us know he wasn't going to be playing in this last game :( The team did win 48-0. YAY Woodcreek!
Ken signed the bus for us, not sure where LOL. |
Ken used the Pit Boss and cooked a chicken. Delicious ! |
Saturday we headed towards Reno. We're going to be splitting a hog with John and Karen that we're buying from our friends KC and Sierra (The Conder Ranch). We decided we need a chest freezer. We've got an upright but usually it's got quite a bit of food in it. Found a 10 cu foot one at Best Buy so we picked it up. Since we were in the area we picked up an order at Total Wine too :).
Had a couple of nice sunsets too! |
Happy Hour in the outdoor kitchen 😁🍸 |
We wanted to check out a few small engine repair shops on the way, but they were closed. Called one and haven't heard back this late Monday afternoon. Geez!
We spent some time with Karen and the hairy kids in the evening.
Sunday was another Champagne Sunday, 🥂I know bad habit LOL. An enjoyable day and then we had a nice fire in the outdoor kitchen. The wind was crazily blowing, but we were nice and toasty out there. 😊🔥🍷🍺 One of the best things we did. 💙
We've got a windy, cold day today. Colder and chance of snow tomorrow. So we'll see. We both didn't do much except watch a couple of movies today with the indoor wood stove going!
Ken's outside right now shutting down the outhouse and outdoor kitchen water for the winter.
I am trying to get some Christmas shopping done online! Can't believe how fast time is flying!
Watching the skies darken and the temperature drop! Have a wonderful evening! 😁
Yeah Woodcreek! Hope the knee is better soon!
ReplyDeleteI love the outdoor kitchen, it just looks so cozy and inviting.
Brrr… no snow! Stay warm.
Deb
Congratulations to Woodcreek. Granddaughter Erica graduated from Woodcreek.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elva..it's a really nice school!
DeleteI just love that fireplace in the kitchen. Perfect spot for happy hour. It's so nice and Christmasy looking! Let the red wave roll!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're hoping the red wave takes over! I have a few more Christmasy things planned LOL.
DeleteArrgh! My comment disappeared.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is perfect for you two and indoors, that fireplace looks inviting. I love your valances!
I laughed at the chicken, although it looks delicious, it looks like it is trying to crawl away! :)
I hate when that happens! Thank you! I always loved that material, so glad I saved it :) Hhaha...you are right about the chicken! It was delicious!
DeleteSo saving "stuff" really is worthwhile sometime. How cute are those valances. The fireplace in the outdoor kitchen looks so warm and inviting. Glad to read you did not waste a trip to Reno just to get a freezer for meat. Wine is important, also...lol Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, wine is important too! WE're trying, had snow yesterday! :)
DeleteGreat looking valences! That chicken looks great too! Hope your pick governor wins, so many states need new blood.
ReplyDeleteIt's a close race, but our guy is out front this am! Fingers crossed. We love YOUR governor!
DeleteI always enjoy your posts and look forward to reading them!
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen is wonderful and I’m sure a big help with all the
company you have. Do you have many sand storms? Thought
about that since you do a lot of out door things and a
outdoor kitchen,
Linda a.
Thank you Linda for reading :) We do have sand storms and wind which is why we built the kitchen the way it sits :) We had to shut down the sink for winter, but normally we can rinse off anything that has sand on it and wash dishes out there.
