Ken got home on Wednesday afternoon. We've pretty much been home since then other than a run to Raleys here and there until today. Ken worked hard and long on firewood this week!
Daughter in law, Cheryl had a birthday on Thursday. Bryan barbecued tri tips and sounded like an awesome dinner. They worked most of the day starting to get things organized at the new place with her step mom. Sounded like a beautiful day in Lincoln, CA.
We had a nice fire outside for a few hours along with Karen visiting. We are lucky to have some of the prettiest sunrises and sunsets in my opinion.
January 13th..beautiful sunset π |
Friday, Ken noticed the pilot light wasn't working on the water heater. How did he notice it? A lukewarm shower LOL. He was able to get it restarted long enough for me to have a great shower.
Saturday he went to town and got a new thermal coupling that he thought might be the problem. Again worked for awhile but out again.
We enjoyed the afternoon watching a couple of movies, as it's cold outside! Later in the afternoon we went next door for a nice fire and conversation. There may have been an adult beverage or 2 involved. πΊπ·
This morning Ken was able to get the water heated so I took a shower using no cold water and then he followed. He called Eric for some advice on the water heater. In the end we made a trip to Home Depot and bought a new water heater. $$$. Hopefully he'll be able to get it in tomorrow.
Adam went to Lincoln to visit Raider today. One happy dog! Raider got sprayed in the face by a skunk a few days ago. Joys of country living! |
This weekend us 3 Phillips girls were reminded of the joys of being a homeowner $$$. Wendy had to have their heating/air conditioner unit replaced. Linda has to have their roof replaced. I came out the cheapest LOL. π
Well, it's Happy Hour with the hubby time! Have a great evening!
Yuma had the skunk perfume in the face a few years back. No fun ☠️ Beautiful sunset and hopefully your hot water problems will soon be over.
ReplyDeleteNo it wasn't any fun, glad I wasn't the one to deal with it! LOL. Fingers crossed he can get it done today! :)
DeleteOh how I know that smell. And every time they get wet, you will smell it again. If things are going to happen, I wish they would happen when it's warm!!! I may be looking for a new hot water heater in Tucson myself. Gorgeous sunset pictures!!
ReplyDeleteBe ready to pull out your wallet if you need a new one! Surprised at how they've gone up since we bought one for our other house, again many years ago. What hasn't gone up?!! Love our sunsets for sure, but you've got some pretty ones too in AZ!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset! Ah, the joys of home ownership, there is always something to fix!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You got that right Jim!
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't be a normal life if things didn't go wrong! We just fix 'em and move on. Bill has to replace the element on our hot water heater too but not until we are in a park to use the electric.
ReplyDeleteYour sunsets are gorgeous, keeps the photographer in all of us happy! :)
You are so right! Oh thank you..just point and shoot, God does the rest :)
