A busy week! The bunkhouse is ready for Christmas!

Sunday morning got ready and got the boys up.  We were meeting Eric and Russell at Black Bear Diner in Roseville. We got there and boy were they busy, but only a few minute wait and we were seated.  Got to spend a little time with two of my 3 sons and family.  Grandson, Jacob was fishing so didn't see him and Daughter in law was on her way to a conference in Washington DC for the week.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the chit chat a lot of it focusing on the Marine Corp. It's looking like grandson Seth may be going that way after high school graduation.  Uncle Russell had lots to say :)
Aaron..

Mason, doing what kids do..
Christina, Eric, Russell, Mason, Seth in the middle but he missed
the pic, Aaron ....what a nice visit!

We finished and I gave Mason and Aaron back to their parents.  Christina took off to head to the movies in Auburn with a friend..unfortunately she never made it, her car broke down not too far from the restaurant :(  Fuel pump. They all waited a long time for the tow truck. Kinda put a hitch in everyone's plans. Eric stayed home on Monday and got it done. Wasn't fun though!

I headed to Total Wine and bought some of the wines i can't get in Nevada and then turned the car up the hill heading home.  Made several stops as I was drinking alot of water and my right leg was giving me problems. After awhile it was like a nerve started hurting so I'd get out and after a few minutes it was better.

Got home around 1630 and just enjoyed the evening with Ken.

Monday morning Karen brought over the linens she washed.  I was able to get started doing the trailers and bunkhouse.  I got the Komfort done, the bed in the bunkhouse and some other things done.  Ken got the Ford ready for an oil change by pulling in the garage and draining the oil.  We were home for the day and that was nice.
The guest room in our house..changed the whole look for under
$20.00!

Tuesday morning it was time to head for Carson City so Ken could get a new tire for the Jayco so that was a visit to Discount Tire.  I needed to do some shopping at Walmart (Winco next week).  Ken bought a new battery for the 73 Dodge and oil and filter for the Ford. The battery was much cheaper at Walmart than at O'Rielys auto parts. We ended up visiting our favorite waitress, Carmen at Carson Valley Inn closer to 1430.  That definitely took care of having dinner at home. It was about 1630 when we got ourselves home.

An early evening for sure!

This morning (Wednesday) I started the coffee just a little after 0500.  Visited with our traveling friends to see where everybody is!  Got the day going after exercises, treadmill etc.

Went out to the bunkhouse and decorated for Christmas.  I love Christmas and enjoying the season, so that's one place I  know I can get away with it a little early. Hahaha.  Finished making the other beds that needed to be done, so we're ready for company this weekend!
The bunkhouse ready for Christmas!

The loft area ready!

You can't tell, but i made Christmas curtains..full of candy canes

Ken found the tire he had done yesterday was done to 8 pounds of air!  Jayco had a problem with their rims the year we bought the trailer, this is #3 out of 5 that's had this problem! So we're off to Discount Tire to get the tire mounted on a different wheel.  I was going to Smith's grocery tomorrow anyway as they've got Thanksgiving specials going on.  Hoping to get an early night and an early start in the morning.  One thing about living here, everything is 50 to 70 miles one way! Discount Tire and Smith's over 70! Good thing we like driving huh!

Stole some pictures from Facebook this morning.  Our niece and family went to TN to visit Don and Dana. Thought these were too cute, so I had to share. ;)

A little cooking and a quick overnight trip to California. Grandsons :)

Friday morning up early and ready to get the day started.  Treadmill, exercises and breakfast..were ready.

Ken did some work on the Comfort 5th wheel.  He wants to get the septic area hard wired, rather than using a sewer hose to fit it into  the system. I had an 1100 hair appointment so to town I went.  Once that was done made a quick stop by Raleys again.

I had decided to take a homemade pizza made with the spaghetti squash crust to my sisters on Saturday.  Russell (our youngest) had said they weren't  going to the bay area as planned so they would be at Owen's party.  I thought Lori would like the spaghetti squash and decided to give it a go. I was going to make all veggie but Ken thought i should make some with meat...ok..
Before cooking...veggie and then salami, sausage, pepperoni

After it was cooked..yum

Turned out looking pretty awesome, so put it in the frighted to chill.  We had plenty of leftovers for dinner so that made it easy.  Spent the rest of the day just getting things ready to leave in the morning.

I had the alarm set for 0445, thinking when it went off the coffee would be ready by 0500.  I was wide awake when it sounded and the coffee was ready by 0500.  I wanted to leave by 0800 but was closer to 0830.  Oh well, party doesn't start until 1500, but I did want to get there early to visit and maybe steal a little holding of little Cassidy. :)

The drive was nice, other than I probably drank too much water and a few stops were necessary.  I was going to check out the fairgrounds but it was nearing noon when I'd be going through there, and that's no time to be in Roseville, CA.  I pulled over in Newcastle to stretch my legs and saw a text from our daughter in law.  I ended up backtracking a few miles to pick up grandson, Mason.  Eric and Seth were working on the Jeep and so they wouldn't be going to the party.  Got him and we headed back down the hill.

Got to Linda's house and was shocked to see my other sister, Wendy there! Seems there was a misunderstanding and her hubby left her there a few hours too early.  She was busy feeding baby Cassidy.
Owen and his 2nd cousin Tyson..sweet  kid..

Our son, Russell...

It was so nice seeing family and friends we don't see very often.  Owen had a great time for his 4th party!  My pizza was a success for the people that were interested.  Mountain Mikes Pizza was even more of a success!  Good looking pizza and I sustained. Instead of cake Chelsea got more bday themed donuts.  I just think that's a great idea!

I left there with Mason and Aaron about 1900 to head towards the motel in Rocklin.  Got checked in and asked what they wanted for dinner. Pizza!  Found  a Little Caesars, got their fill and back to the motel. Called Ken to check in and poured a glass of wine.  Now it's time for bed...I'm done!
Meeting up with some of our boys and their families for breakfast at 0900.  Love my family and look forward to the morning!

Halloween pumpkin carving..cooking some new foods..

I think it was about 0600 yesterday (Wednesday) when we got up and got going.  It was a really cold morning once again in the 20's.  The one thing nice is this time of year the afternoons are very comfortable.  Visited with friends and had our coffees. Treadmill time and our exercises we were ready to get on with the day!

I had seen a couple of recipes on Pinterest that I was interested in making so decided to work on that for a bit.  Had to run to Raleys to get some ground turkey breast and of course a few other things. Home and some lunch and I got started on the dishes.

For Ken, it was an andouille and broccoli with cheese dish.  For me I made some shredded zucchini and the ground turkey breast making burgers out of them. Both of the dishes were really easy, but i sure can make a mess in the kitchen! Just not a neat cook haha.
Turkey breast and zucchini burgers cooking..they were
yummy!

Ken's dish, he said was really yummy!

At 1400 Ken went next door to help Karen carve some pumpkins. Never was my thing so I was happy to stay home and do this and a few other things. Even when the kids were young that was Ken's thing with them.

Karen's cyclops

He got home at 1600 and said she said to come get me, her mom Izzie was over and Karen was making clam chowder (not my thing either hahah).  We had already decided the day before that we were going over for Happy Hour since it was Halloween.  I took some salami, cheese and crackers.  We had a nice visit and eventually John got home. We left just a little after 1830 to come home.

We watched some television and enjoyed our dinner.  Started a fire in the fireplace as it was getting cooler.
The pumpkins are lit up..

This morning (Thursday) I was awake about 0400 but didn't start the coffee until 0500.  Enjoyed our leisurely morning reading about where our friends are who have started their southernly trek!  Always fun to see where everyone ends up.

Ken's scary man's face..

Scary man and his fluorescent fingers
His hand was holding  a big ax..
Like Ken said "I think I have
too much time on my hands"..LOL

Last night's sunset...

I ran to town to get some water as we were out and get my hair cut. Got the water but Shari was in Reno working today so made an appointment for tomorrow.

WE haven't had a baked whole chicken in forever so picked one up for just a little over $4.00 today and stuck it in the oven when I got home.  Smelled so good cooking!  I also added some onions and sliced turnips to the pan. Since I'm not eating potatoes thought i'd try the turnips this way.  Surprisingly they looked like my mom's roasted potatoes and they tasted pretty darn good!
Roasted turnips on the left..can't wait to have them!

Ken went and got the Jayco from next door and brought it home. He took the scary man down until next year and just got some things done.

We talked this afternoon and it looks like in order to fit everything in and be back home for his appointment on March 6th we'll probably be leaving right after Christmas.  Hoping to meet up with our friends in Quartzite in January before we head for TN.

Since my grandkids are too old to Trick or Treat I had to steal my sister Linda's grandkids..
Owen was a dragon!

Little Cassidy in her hair curler knitted hat!
Before I sign off and get ready for Happy Hour here at home..We found out yesterday that Ken's eye drops are not covered by Medicare therefore not covered by his supplemental either.  The drops would cost over $200.00 for a couple of month prescription. Doctor is supposed to fill out some form and send somewhere to see if they'll approve.  Of course, there is no generic for this specific eye drops. There are others the doctor said. So we'll see...

Have a wonderful evening!
