Karen opened her store in town "NOT JUST CANDLES", More progress on the kitchen :)

It's been almost a week again, but other than working on the kitchen really not much going on.

I did go to my yearly doctor's appointment and some lab work done. All is good there.

WE took one day and headed to Reno for a Total Wine pickup, Lowe's, Walmart and Raley's. CVI for Linner and then home. Of course, you know the day was done by the time we got home.

Karen opened her store in town on Tuesday.  Ken suggested going out to breakfast before we met her at the store so Ken could do a few last minute things. Breakfast was yummy and out the door with a four dollar tip for $15.00.

Karen's store, Not Just Candles..Very unique items along
with homemade soaps, bath salts and candles 😍

Good luck Karen and Izzie!

We went next door for dinner and met Cameron's grandparents
from Southern California. 😀

Here's a few pictures of the kitchen. Coming along nicely!

Ken got the water hooked up to the sink. One more place to wash dishes LOL.

I made the little valance for color mainly, as we didn't want to cover much
of the windows. The big shelf was made by one of our boys in high school as was
the other smaller shelf.  I have 3 of every shelf and these didn't have a
name on the back.

The red heart shelf was bought at a garage sale in Warren, ID when I took
my mom back there for a friends 50th wedding anniversary several years
back.

Ken's only got 9 more pavers to do! Then a little concrete  along the edge 😃

We love it way too much already!

John and Karen gave us this fridge for pantry use. It was all black, I painted it
light gray and the front is a chalkboard 😃

The fridge had been sitting in their back field for years. Opened it up and clean inside. It will be perfect for holding plates, glasses, etc to keep them from
getting so dusty.  Got this idea from our friend Fred in AZ! 😆

I've had this since the first week we got married almost 50 years ago. My
mom gave me this with cups (wish I still had) at my wedding shower. Found
the perfect place for it. 💕

The barbed wire won't be staying there. Our niece, Linda made this wine
glass holder for me in the 8th grade (she's 44 now).  Perfect spot for it 😍

Last night's view from the kitchen 😍

Ken has his yearly cardiologist's appointment this morning at 1100. Dr. C comes to town once a month so we don't have to go to Carson City which is nice!

We hope to get the pantry fridge set and soon he'll get the new grill set up.
Have a great day, time to get going!

Cabinet done, floor coming along! A special gift and a graduation!

Well almost another week has passed and it's been productive. 😀 Most of the week was spent working on the outside kitchen. Ken's getting the pavers down. It is slow going as each paver needs to be leveled so the floor isn't out of whack. He tries to get 2 rows done a day before he has to go on to other things because there is still stuff to do around here. It's also been very hot . Summer is in the air for sure.

Two more rows were done today. This was last night's picture
I think he's only got four more rows to do 😃

I concentrated on the Youngstown cabinet and sink.  Gotta say the prep work was the worst, but it's done! 😍 Finished the sink today.  With it being a bargain in the first place at $30.00, for $42.00 and some elbow grease, sanding and painting we have a beauty!

We knew there was a treasure to be got here
Good thing we have vision! Haha..

After!

This shows some of the gloss that the cabinet and sink have
on them

Yeah, pretty bad huh..I had to laugh as I got down there to
sand inside the cabinet it scared me, I thought it was a lizard
inside the cabinet on the wall. We all know I don't like lizards!

Before some sanding and cleaning

Hard to tell in the picture but it's very glossy..

Hopefully we can get it on the cabinet either this afternoon or tomorrow.
Ken's got a little plumbing to do to get it hooked up

We'll head for Lowe's to pick up a little more concrete on Monday.

Yesterday we were surprised with a Fed EX delivery of this beauty we didn't know we were getting! Thank you Eric and Christina! 💗 Eric said it was a Mother's / Father's Day present.  I say it's that and Birthdays and Christmas! I talked with Christina last week and she was asking things about the kitchen, but I never guessed we'd end up with this. 💙

Love this!

Eric and Christina posted on FB yesterday so I had to steal.

They attended the California Highway Patrol graduation as one of  Seth's friend's,  Rhys graduated the academy. They've all known Rhys (Reece) since they were young. He used to be at Seth's house or vice versa until they moved to southern California years back. When he got his drivers license he drove up to see Seth and family. Very proud of this young man!

Mason and Rhys 💙
Eric, Christina, Rhys and Mason 💙

They even found the plaque from when Ken's brother Don graduated the
in 1987

Congratulations Rhys!!
His dad pinned him as he is also Highway Patrol 😊
made me tear up talking with Eric last night

Ken barbecued tonight some awesome pork! We had left over veggie mix and it was all so good! Have a great night 😋

Fridge is in, continuing on with the pavers, working on the Youngstown kitchen cabinet

Well the weekend has come and gone way too fast! Today we're headed to Walmart in a few minutes.

Ken worked on the outdoor kitchen the last few days.  It's coming together nicely! We love the pavers we're using.  Once he got so far, we put the refrigerator out there yesterday. Yep, really liking it!

We have a fridge!

All insulated and finished with the wood

Not the best picture but he's got 4 rows of pavers done :)

I worked on cleaning the Youngstown kitchen. It's been sitting outside at Mel's place for years and there was so much dirt, sand and just crap! I scraped off the linoleum and contact paper that had obviously been on the shelves since the  70's. Obvious by the contact paper! LOL.

Ken put it on it's side so I could get to the shelves easier

The  sink top is filthy...

Inside the shelves were covered with old linoleum
and contact paper..

Next...the sander will happen..

Now to get as much rust off as I can with my little sander and then paint! Hopefully tomorrow. By the time we get home today the days will be pretty well done. Then we've got a graduation to attend at 1900 in Silver Springs, about 1/2 hour away.

Seth and Holly and  some Marines were in TX this past weekend. Did you know the town of Bowie, TX has the world's largest Bowie Knife? Yep, even in the Guinness World Records!

Seth and Holly 😍

Seth and friends! 💙
We're home, groceries put away and now it's time to get ready to head out again for Isabel's graduation.

Happy Hour will have to wait today! Have a great evening.

Visiting with Eric and family, shopping, left Aaron on Saturday, Bryan and family visits :) Erin's Birthday today!

Last Friday got the day going with a quick trip to Cool, Ca to see Seth and Holly as they were home from Camp Pendleton for the holiday. Eric had made an awesome breakfast of eggs, potatoes and bacon! Of course I had to have some LOL.  Had a nice visit with the grandkids except Mason who was at school. Nice to see Eric and Christina too of course!

Nephew Dusty, Love the flag in the background.

I love this picture of our great niece Cassidy!
Hard to believe she's going to be 4!

Then I headed out to go shopping at Winco and picking up an online order at Total Wine in Roseville, CA.   Eventually got back to Aaron's and put stuff in their refrigerator and freezer to keep food fresh until Saturday morning.

Allissa (Jacob's sweetie) came by later in the late afternoon and caught me outside on the back patio with a glass of wine so she joined me. We had great conversation and then some Winco chicken for dinner. She and Aaron then headed out to see the new Top Gun movie. I was sound asleep whenever they got home.

Saturday morning I made Aaron a couple of egg mc muffins and he was actually awake before I left about 0900. Grandma (Ken's mom) was having some tough decisions to make about one of her dogs so I wanted to be around if she needed me before I left.

A nice drive home up highway 50 and got here only about 40 minutes ahead of Bryan and Cheryl. We had a great evening and I think it was after midnight before we all headed to bed. I think it was later for Bryan and Ken. :)

Aaron wanted cheeseburgers and onion rings one night 😋

Ken, Cheryl and Bryan in the background..Adam's head LOL.

Adam, Raider and Erin 💖

Bryan and Cheryl heading out for a ride, it was a cool one!

I like the way the kitchen looks with the clouds

Karen surprised us with this sign 💙

Sunday Karen was having a barbecue for John's 53rd Birthday. I made some spinach dip and Cheryl made her awesome potato salad. Another good, late night. Adam and Erin got here about 2215. 😃

Monday I fried up some bacon and a mess of scrambled eggs and we headed next door about 1000. Karen made her yummy biscuits and gravy and along with mimosas it was a great start to a great day. LOL.

A couple of Can Am rides took place during the day. Visiting and just enjoying. Ken barbecued some burgers and hot links for dinner. Nothing fancy but good.

Tuesday it was time for everyone to head for home. Bryan and Cheryl and the pups left first. Adam and Erin went for a long CanAM ride and then they headed for home too. Loved having them all!

Cheryl, Bryan Daisy and Raider💖

Erin and Adam. Happy Birthday Erin! 💕

Did some clean up after they left and then took it pretty easy.

Today (Wed) we headed for Ace in Fallon to return a reducer for the fireplace that didn't work. Of course while we're there we spent some more $$ thinking ahead to get the fireplace set up after the floor is in. Then to Fernley to Lowe's to get some 2x4's, insulation, concrete saw blades and concrete. $$.

Got home in time to make some lunch. After that Ken started on the pouring of a little concrete inside the outdoor kitchen. It'll make laying the pavers easier.

Happy Hour time, so i'll finish this later 😊🍷🍺

Well, obviously didn't get this finished, but before Happy Hour today this is getting done!

I did some baking this morning of Ken's goodies. Tried a new recipe of low carb cookie bars and they look pretty yummy! We'll see in the morning with coffee.

Ken's been working in the kitchen pouring the concrete he needs. Looks good.  Right now he's insulating the area where the refrigerator will go. The evening sun will shine right there so this will help keep the fridge cooler. Later he'll do part of the wall behind the fireplace :)

He's pouring a strip of concrete along the 3 outside walls in order to make
placement of the pavers easier without so much cutting..Those pavers are
just for standing on right now.

He had to put in a couple of more studs upper and lower

It's funny, unless you build it yourself you don't realize how much work goes
into it :) There will be two more pieces of insulation lower and then on the back
wall as wide as the fridge. It will be covered with the 1x4...

Now I can get this posted! Have a great evening!
