That was quite a week with the grandsons!

Shows how fast a week goes! Can't believe my last post was last Saturday.

All the boys going into the Nevada State Museum...

Sunday we headed for Carson City and the Nevada State Museum. I've got to admit i'm not a big museum person..but this one was awesome!  We had to take two cars because we had 5 grandsons but it worked out ok.  You gotta do what you gotta do! :)

Nevada Museum..bottom floor is a Mining Museum..so cool!!
It's like being in a mine!!

The museum was $8.00 per adult but kids under 18 were free..very well spent money!  Surprising how put together this museum was..met the standards of many we've seen over the years!  Foreigners were there also, so how they find these places amazes me!

So we spent a couple of hours touring the museum and then headed to the park where Rockabilly was and had lunch..I made sandwiches etc before we left home..so worked out great!

Monday morning we headed for Bridgeport for camping! The boys were excited, as they love Bridgeport!  We were hoping for some good fishing for the boys!  This time instead of taking the tent for them, we took the 97 Ford (aka..money pit)..with the cab over camper on it..and it pulled the Jayco.  Worked well..gotta admit Ken loves the 7.3!!
Our view at camp!

Under the EZ UP..our saving grace!

Aaron was thinking about killing Seth..but decided against it...hahah

The boys found these things to put in Jacobs hair...hmmmmm

Bridgeport is only about 75 miles or so from us, so it's a quick trip!  Got there in time for lunch and the boys took off for fishing.  Adam left that morning and headed home to Georgetown. It was nice he spent a few days with us though.
He is in love at this moment, so I think that was why he wanted to get home.

We were there for 3 nights..it was really warm..on Tuesday, Seth, Jacob and I came back home really quick as I had forgotten some things, but then again it was so hot in the middle of the day, we figured why not?  2 of the nights we were able to have fires and wear sweatshirts, but the 3rd night it was so warm we didn't..the boys caught a few fish, but Jacob and Seth took pictures of theirs and threw them back.  Mason brought 3 of them home..1 had to be trashed, as when they cut in to it , gross!!

We headed back home Thursday and were home about 1300.  Yesterday we all went to breakfast at Dini's in town and then I took them all home.  Funny how fast summer goes nowadays..Seth and Mason were having a bar b q at their house today, Russell's family is getting ready to go camping tomorrow.  Then it's back to school for all.

Jacobs Breakfast was huge!!

Breakfast at Dini's in Yerington...

I decided to come home highway 50 to 88 ..traffic was horrible on 50 because it was summer and Friday..I love this drive..so peaceful and beautiful..and not many other cars!
Carson Pass...love this area...

Looking towards our house...love it!

I got home in time for a beautiful show put on by Mother Nature..we sat on the tailgate and watched...loved lightning and rainbows...

View from the tailgate of the truck...

A little later! Love our skies!

Adam has an awards dinner on Wednesday, because of Boys State, so I plan on attending that.  Thursday, back home.

Did some cleaning today, but it's so hot..the energy level drops quickly....

Sitting here this afternoon, we decided to leave here Monday, do some business in Reno and then spend the night on Monday at Boomtown.  Tuesday, probably stop somewhere and look at some cars (Hot August Nights starts this week) and then come home.  Nice to able to decide to do that last minute.  Yes, the bunkhouse needs to get started, but it's so darn hot!!

The last few days, we're hearing of people who are dying, or passed away..or are so sick you just don't know what's happening..glad to be able to do what we do at this point in our lives...tomorrow's not a given..so we're thankful for every day we do have!  Just remember to be happy, and enjoy every day you have..you only live once, make it the best you can....

Don got a new cabin at his place in TN...love it..so he sent us these pictures and I'm sharing it with you..can't wait to get back there and stay in it!!

All five grandsons are here!!

Yesterday morning I left here about 0600 and headed over to CA to  pick up Seth, Mason, Jacob and Aaron for a few days.  Got to Auburn just a little after 0900 and headed for our Wells Fargo branch to close out our safe deposit box.  We got a call a few weeks ago saying the branch was closing and we needed to close the box.  Earlier this week we went to Reno and opened a new box at US Bank.  So I get there and the branch isn't closing.  The one in downtown Auburn is...hmmm...so she looks it up and it says our branch is downtown.  Uhh...no it's not.  She finds our account and anyway after about half an hour of her on the phone with whoever handles safe deposit boxes she tells me there's nothing they can do until Tuesday, because it will take that long to change the address in the system..really?!  In the days of computers, it will take that long..and because we are closing it just to close it..no pro rating it..So I got all our stuff out and I'll be back next Feb or so and then close it out..Geezz...but got our stuff and a new one in Reno so that's all that matters..

Christina got there with the boys and then we headed to Antelope to pick up Jacob and Aaron.  We got there about 1100 and headed out.  Stopped near Placerville and grabbed a bite to eat, then just enjoyed the drive home after that.  Traffic was heavy but not as bad as you would think.

Adam left his house about 1520 to head over and he made good time.  He's liking the fact that he can drive over here by himself.

He got here and was starving, just as I was making pulled pork sandwiches for the other boys..so good timing!

Turns out our friend Steve, who passed away last December had given Ken some fireworks, so what better time to bring out a few.  After dinner we went outside and they had fun with these things.
Seth (videoing the fun)..Jacob, Mason and Adam..

Jacob and Seth .

Today, at various times of the morning the kids got up.  Aaron and Mason never went to sleep, so they were the first to have breakfast..Lastly was Adam at about 1100.

I made some cookies and brownies and then we headed for Scolari's to get some things.  Got back home and now the boys are  in town playing some basketball.  Adam drove them all.  Amazing to see him pull out of the driveway with his cousins along with him.  They are all growing up way too quickly.

This weekend in town is Night in the Country.  Used to be a little family event where they would bring in a few country acts.  Now it's huge! People come from all over to our little town to listen to country acts, drink a lot of alcohol, show a lot of skin and have a rip roaring time.  A lot of locals pick this weekend to get out of town!
Normally an empty field..

Looks like tomorrow we will head to Carson City to the Nevada State Museum for a few hours.  Our neighbor Joe, told Ken this would be a worthwhile place to visit for a day trip.  We plan on heading to Bridgeport for a few days on Monday.  The boys are chomping at the bit to go fishing.  Either Thursday or Friday i'll run them home.  Sure is nice having them all here at the same time!

The ping pong challenge is on!

Adam's green quad, needs a little tlc and it'll be up and running!

Adam and Aaron waiting their turn..
